The Situation

Hillross Financial Services Limited was established in 1987 and is one of Australia's largest financial planning groups.  The network has over 120 financial planning practices across the country with more than 270 financial planners.  Hillross have advised thousands of Australians over many years.

The Objectives

Hillross required:

  • A simple and easy way to manage and share content between the different sites
  • Minimise the amount of duplicated content
  • Accurate, compliant and up to date information to be made available to existing and potential clients and the entire business network
  • Content and information needed to be highly accessible
  • A strong focus on Information Architecture and usability

The Glass Onion Solution

The Hillross solution provides for central management of content for the www.hillross.com.au site and all individual planner sites.  The planner sites share the majority of their content with the Hillross site.

Features of this solution: -

  • Find a planner – geographical postcode search
  • W3C compliance and highly accessible
  • Integration to Verity search indexing and Nielsen NetRatings Reporting
  • Ability to create and brand individual planner sites with their own URL - 90 instances
  • Strong brand values translation to the web

Extranets

Glass Onion developed a powerful extranet solution that serves three separate styled extranet sites for the Hillross, Arrive and MAGNIFY brands, combined with a shared content model supporting all sites.  One interface (re:fract) controls the content for all three websites.  In addition the solution includes the following features: -

  • Integration to IT @ AMP’s proprietary single sign on (SSO) technology
  • Personalisation of e-applications, quick links and favourite pages
  • Notification of content update to nominated planners – user administrable
  • Personal file downloads for authorised users – secured access control to non HTML content

Outcomes

  • Reduced time to deliver content management services to planners
  • Improved site management as content updates are managed in-house
  • Improved website offering to planners
  • Removed previous usability issues
